Via ferrata “Falcon’s path” on Romanija mountain available to tourists

In the area of ​​Crvene stijene (Red rocks) on Romanija mountain, the new tourist content of the Sarajevo-Romanija region – Via ferata “Falcon’s path”, which is part of a large project financed by the EU and Germany with 505,000 KM, was solemnly presented today.

Via ferrata, ie a path along the rocks decorated with steel aids, is intended for everyone, especially those without previous mountaineering experience.

The length of the ferrata is 350 meters and with two suspension bridges it is a unique attraction in BiH.

The mayor of East Sarajevo, Nenad Vukovic, said that today they opened the ferrata on Crveni stijene as a new adrenaline and attractive tourist content, and that he expects a large number of arrivals and visits to this location in the coming period, because the content is worthy of attention.

He added that in the area of ​​Romanija, it is planned to arrange hiking trails that will connect the locations of Crvena stijena, the cave of Starina Novaka and the mountain lodge “Stajna” in the length of 45 kilometers.

The director of the Tourist Organization “Jahorina” of the city of East Sarajevo, Igor Tosic, reminded that within the project of paved and marked hiking trails to the ferrata, two lookouts were set up to rest, and will certainly complete the stay of tourists in the area.

“This Via ferrata activity is just one of the planned within the project, which will be implemented for 18 months. In the next period, the plan is to purchase hot air balloons on Trebević, build a children’s playground, an outdoor gym and an artificial alpine rock, as well as improve small and medium enterprises, “Tošić told reporters.

According to him, a team of alpinists organized the first climb to Crvene stijene today, and thus the new tourist content was officially presented.

Tosic added that this is a great progress for tourism in East Sarajevo and that the realization of this project will open the mountain Romanija for new types of tourism.

He pointed out that Romanija, as well as Jahorina, has great potential for the development of summer tourism and is located on the green line “Via Dinarika”, as is Trebević.

Today, thanks were handed out to everyone who helped in the realization of the project from mountaineering associations from the city, volunteers, the motorcycle club Pale, the company Dom Žal from Banja Luka and many other entities.

The tourist organization “Jahorina”, together with the Development Agency of the City of East Sarajevo and the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, as well as the partner Pale company “Stanisic”, together passed the project “Feel the pleasure of staying in nature along the green path Via Dinarika Sarajevo-Romanija region” new tourism product.
