Within the project “Enjoy Sarajevo – Romanija Region”, funded by the European Union, on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Via Ferrate “Falcon’s path” will be opened on the site of Crvene stijene (Red rocks) on Romanija.
Via Ferrata is a secured hiking trail or path on the rocks decorated with steel aids, intended for everyone, especially those without previous mountaineering experience.
On that occasion, at 11:00, a team of alpinists will organize the first climb to Crvene stijene and officially present the new tourist content of the Sarajevo-Romanija region, so all mountaineering associations, lovers of alpinism and nature from this region are invited to join the opening.
The length of this Via Ferrata is 350 m and with two suspension bridges is a unique attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This adrenaline content will give fans of adventure and extreme sports great excitement with maximum safety.
This activity is only one of the planned within the project “Enjoy Sarajevo-Romanija region”, which is jointly implemented by the Tourist Organization of Jahorina-City of East Sarajevo, City Development Agency of East Sarajevo (RAIS), Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska (PKRS) and Stanišić doo Pale.
The project will be implemented for 18 months, and its total value is 258,000 euros, of which the European Union has allocated over 200,000 euros in grants.
EU4Business is worth € 16.1 million and is jointly funded by the European Union (€ 15 million) and the Federal Republic of Germany (€ 1.1 million). The project is being implemented jointly by GIZ, ILO and UNDP, from April 2018 to March 2022.
